The long-lived gingko tree is considered a “bearer of hope.” Four gingko trees in Hiroshima survived the 1945 atomic bomb blast and are still alive today. This cotton bolt has a delicate pattern of gingko leaves dancing all over it. ARRIVED. A PRISTINE AND HIGH QUALITY BOLT.
I bought this absolutely charming book from an antique warehouse in Osaka. The art is made with pieces of kimono silk, woven tape, rope, threads and more. Very inspirational!
ARRIVED. THE BOOK, ENTITLED “RAG ART,” IS FROM A 1988 EXHIBITION BY AYAKO MIYAWAKI. IN THE FOREWARD, IT SAYS “ We hope visitors of the exhibition will enjoy this aesthetic world, which has been created by a housewife.” MRS. MIYAWAKI WON INTERNATIONAL ACCLAIM FOR HER TEXTILE WORKS!
