Growing chrysanthemums in Japan is like a national sport. When Michael and I visited Miwa’s home in Matsuyama, we saw her father’s chrysanthemum greenhouse. Almost four feet in height, his mums were being groomed for a regional flower contest. This bolt of vintage yukata cotton celebrates Japan’s love of its imperial bloom.
